I recorded this song in St.Louis at Starrstruck Studios with Chris Matthews. Fritz sent me this beat via email. I knew it would be something unique. I wanted to actually say something I've never said before in the past. Nas also inspired the second half. The FBI has a fear of a Black Messiah. After watching countless Panther documentaries I was inspired to originally name this track "Messiah". I didn't have to work too hard to write these lyrics. It might've took me close to 10 minutes.

Once I had the general energy of the flow in mind. I sat it down and waited til we hit the studio to completely flush it out. I didn't do this in one take but it was definitely an in and out type of situation. During this time I was sleeping at the studio and plowing through pages for my book "Rebel to America" I recorded this while taking a break from the screen.I landed with Black Messiah as the title after watching William Buckley and Cleaver debate on youtube.


I want to say shout out to all the St.Louis Black Messiahs in the rap game. People like Bo Dean, T Dubb-O, Trixie, Riley B, Bates, Monkh, Blvck Spade, Shana B, Rome, West End (my fav groups) Domino Effect, Family Affair (my brothers), Jay Stretch for keeping it real, Tech Supreme for the graphics, Dre Ellis, all the positive forces in my life like my home girl Kris and my brother Rocky Knuckles.Ron Himes and Mama Jamala.....Percy. Green and Walter!! Allison for giving birth to my god son Felix!!!!!!

ALL the mothers and all the fathers of my style!
