I once read a story about how. TI introduced his self to Will Smith during one of their early encounters. Will was smoking a cuban cigar and insisted that young Tip try one. To everyones surprise he declined and instead said to Will Smith "I have my own." He was a new artist with an overwhelming amount of confidence. People in power places want to know if you're capable of belonging. Hence I said "This is TI at the table with a black and mild/ introducing his self to Will Smith then he acting out." Thats a metaphor about the radical nature of my confidence as an emcee.


A dedication to the god Nipsey Hussle, heavily inspired by him and his music. I opened up for him in 2012, another. moment I had to defend myself against the idiots who only listen with one ear. :"Why is Tef opening for Nipsey?" We completely smashed it onstage and quickly put those questions to rest. I saw a god performing onstage when we got off. This was 2012 and he looked like a fucking rap god in the flesh.

I've been inspired by Hussle for a very long time. His death is still unbelievable. Sometimes we'r e moving at the sped of life and theres nothing we can do about it. The cyclone of the grind is what I like to call it. You get caught up in the twist of this energy and its impossible to escape. Nipsey was brilliant man who possibly never stood a chance.
